Pender Island Fall Fair a HUGE Success

Congratulations to the organizers of this year's fall fair here on Pender Island!  It takes a huge number of volunteers to put on the fall fair every year, and this year was no exception.  Setup, admissions, kid's activities, parade exhibits, fuest speakers, entertainers, barbecue, and beer garden are just the start.  Then of course there are the conveners, judges and participants in all of the competitions that range from agriculture to baking to quilting.

It is always a fun WHOLE day.  The fair kicks off with the farmer's market for breakfast, then the parade, a wander through the exhibits, some lunch, the guest speakers and presenters (goat milking, for example), then perhaps a beverage or two in the beer garden, dinner ($5 barbecue with all the fixings), and finally, the dance at the end of the evening.  It's a good old fashioned country style fair.

I've got a few photos to share from the parade...

Here's the SS Hope Bay Crew getting ready to join the parade:

Next year I'll do a better job of capturing a whole day at the fair in photos.  (I promise.)
