Thursday, February 14:
The Pistou Grill: Chef Pierre Delacote is once again offering a mouth watering set menu for Valentine's Day. A small, intimate bistro located at the Driftwood Mall, the Pistou is many locals favourite place for a special night out. Pierre's set menu nights bring together world class cuisine and great value for money -- a pairing that is hard to come by these days. $55/person. The Valentine's menu will also be served on Friday the 15th. Call 250 629 3131 for reservations (a must). Cocktails at 6:30, Dinner at 7:00 sharp.
Film Night at the Hall: Exils - Zano and his companion Naima travel across France and Spain down to Algeria, where they might ultimately come to know the land their parents once had to flee. Enamored with their freedom, they let the time slip by, intoxicated by the Andalusia's sensuality, before they finally decide to cross the Mediterranean, reconstructing in reverse the path of the exile and ending their travels with the promise of recapturing themselves. A beautifully filmed road movie with long musical sequences. 7:30pm at the Community Hall.
Saturday, February 16:
Pender Islands Community Hall Valentine's Dance: All ages welcome! Admission by donation. Music by DJ Doc Watson. 7:30-11pm at the Community Hall.
