Events on Pender Island, BC Thursday Nov. 22 to Sunday Nov. 25

Orcas off Pender IslandIn my humble opinion, Pender Island, BC has got to be one of the most beautiful places on earth to live...the climate is moderate, the scenery is amazing (especially when the sun is out (like today!)) and the presence of the birds, deer, whales and other wildlife amongst all of these trees and water is truly calming to the spirt.

More photos in my photo album.

In addition, we also have a vibrant island culture, amazing community spirit and a busy social schedule to keep residents as busy as they want to be all year long.  This weekend is another example:

Thursday, Nov 22:

Saturday, Nov 24:

  • 8:00pm - The Community Hall presents Allison Crowe Tidings Concert:  Music for the Season and All Time

Sunday, Nov 25:

  • 12:00pm - Grey Cup festivities at the Legion Hall
  • 1:00pm Film Group at the Community Hall presents Kids' Sunday Matinee showing of Ratatouille
  • 3:30pm Out of Africa, Compassion & climate Change slide show and dinner at the Anglican Parish Hall
  • 4:00pm Lions Club Lighting of the Pearson Memorial CARE Tree at Bridges Road

Welcome to all Island visitors, and a special welcome to anyone visiting from the US this weekend.  Happy Thanksgiving!

Best Regards,

Howard on Pender
